A Learnership is a learning programme that combines work-based experience with structured learning, i.e. theory and practice.

Torque Career Campus was one of the first Training Providers to have been awarded learnerships by the ISETT SETA.

Torque Career Campus has been conducting learnerships since 2003 and is accredited by the ISETT SETA for the following SAQA qualifications:

  • End User Computing NQF 3
  • Technical Support NQF 4
  • Systems Development NQF 4
  • Systems Support NQF 5
  • Systems Development NQF 5

Torque IT is also accredited by the Services SETA to provide Further Education and Training Certificate: Project Management.

LEARNERSHIPS

NC IT: Technical Support NQF 4

Learners will be able to identify, install, configure and upgrade micro computer modules and peripherals, while applying their knowledge relating to diagnosing and troubleshooting common problems and systematic functions. The course also validates technical competency in networking administration and support. After completion of this course, learners will be able to describe the features and functions of networking components and possess the knowledge and skills needed to install, configure and troubleshoot basic networking hardware, protocols and services. The course focuses on the technical ability in the areas of media and topologies, protocols and standards, network implementation and network support.

NC IT: Systems Development NQF 4

The purpose of this qualification is to build a foundational entry into the field of Computer Sciences and Information Technology, specifically into the field of Systems Development. It covers basic knowledge needed for further study in theĀ field of Systems Development at a Higher Education Level.

NC IT: Systems Support NQF 5

This course combines all the major network operating system technologies. Learners will obtain the necessary skills to lead organizations in the successful design, implementation and administration of the most advanced operating system technologies. This programme will equip learners to analyse business requirements, design and implement infrastructure for business solutions based on various platforms. Successful learners will be able to install, configure, manage, administrate and trouble shoot network systems.

NC IT: Systems Development NQF 5
Learners will be able to design a programme in business applications and orientated programming on the Visual Basic.net platform and other equivalent platforms. This programme introduces learners to software development processes and computer software. They will also learn about different languages and technologies used in the software development process. The programme focuses on user interfaces, programme structures, languages syntax and these implementation details.

Further Education and Training Certificate: Project Management NQF 4

The primary purpose of the qualification is to provide learners with:

  • A foundation of basic project management knowledge and skills which can be used to build further project management-related competencies,
  • Competence to be an effective project team member,
  • Competence to provide administrative support to a project manager and team members, and
  • Competence to provide assistance to a project manager in charge of medium to large projects.

Learners can benefit from a nationally-recognised qualification, practical workplace experience, recognition of past experience and knowledge obtained formally or informally, recognition of prior learning, and exposure to an actual job environment. Torque Career Campus learnerships serve as an entry point for young people into the IT industry and it provides a route to employment and self-employment.
