APMG-International owns and operates the ISO/IEC 20000 certification schemes. Individuals can demonstrate their expertise with regard to understanding and applying the standard by achieving certification at Foundation and Practitioner levels respectively.
ISO/IEC Foundation Level
The Foundation is the entry level of the ISO/IEC 20000 certifications. The ISO/IEC 20000 Certification training program is an intensive, case-study-oriented certification that is designed for those involved in the ISO/IEC 20000 implementation process and for those who would like to better understand what the implementation encompasses.
Delegates attending this certification are required to have a minimum of three years’ experience conducting audits in an IT environment. This may be as a third-party auditor or as an internal auditor for an organization. This qualification will build on basic audit and IT knowledge with regard to the contents of ISO/IEC 20000 and its use.
The Foundation certification is a pre-requisite for entry to the Practitioner level certification.
ISO/IEC 20000 Practitioner Level
The Practitioner qualification serves to demonstrate that the candidate has a solid understanding of ISO/IEC 20000 and that application thereof. Successful graduates will have a demonstrated ability to analyse and apply their knowledge to a range of activities that support organizations in achieving and retaining ISO/IEC 20000 certification.
Delegates attending this certification are required to have a fundamental knowledge of IT service management principles and processes. The basic ITSM knowledge required is exemplified by either an ITIL® Service Management Foundation certificate or an approved ISO/IEC 20000 Foundation certificate. One of the above certifications is mandatory in order to attending this course and write the associated certification examination.
