Certification Overview
The standard track consists of three courses RH-124, RH-134 & exam EX-200 (RHCSA) and RH-254 & exam EX-300 (RHCE). This certification is aimed at persons who need more review of key concepts or who are new to both UNIX and Linux.
- RH-124 – Red Hat System Administration I is designed for IT professionals who are new to Linux and require core Red Hat Enterprise Linux skills.
- RH-134 – Red Hat System Administration II is designed for IT professionals working to become full-time enterprise Linux system administrators. This course is a follow-up to Red Hat System Administration I. RH-134 includes the EX-200 exam on the last day of training.
- RH-254 – Red Hat System Administration III is designed for experienced Linux administrators who require networking and security administration skills. With a heavy emphasis on practical, hands-on labs, this course is tightly aligned with experienced Linux administrators’ job tasks and skills required for advancement. RH-254 includes the EX-300 exam on the last day of the training. Pre-requisites include RH-134 or equivalent skills.
Rapid Track
The Rapid Track consists of one course, the RH-300 Red Hat Rapid Track course (and RHCE exam). This course is designed for senior Linux system administrators who want to validate their competencies by earning the RHCE credentials. This is a fast paced preparation course that combines courses RH-124, RH-134 and RH-254.

This track trains participants to install and configure Red Enterprise Linux systems, focusing on elements common to most deployments. Starting with essentials for all system operators, administrators, and architects, this track trains broadly on system installation and configuration of the base OS, followed by standard networking services, and continuing to advanced administrative topics such as provisioning, clustering, and performance tuning.
A key component of the System Administration track id the ability to train for and earn Red Hat’s renowned certifications, including the Red Hat certified System Administrator (RHCSA) and the Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE).
